#GlowIn6 Challenge Week Three Routines

This week is the last week we’re adding ingredients to our skin care routines but you have an assignment! Find your local esthetician and book a facial for the week of February 10th. Why do you need to book a facial if this challenge is supposed to help you with your skin? Well, for a number of reasons. For starters, facials are apart of a good skin care routine. Secondly, those with acne can really benefit from getting regular, professional extractions. It makes a huge difference in the appearance of the acne lesions and helps clear you quicker. Lastly, for those with hyperpigmentation, a visit to an esthetician is crucial before getting any invasive chemical peels. Any esthetician worth their salt probably isn’t going to allow you get a chemical peel during your very first appointment with them.

I’ll be reposting estheticians across the US on my Instagram all week just in case you can’t find anyone near you in the directory. Now, on to the routines! This week is heavy on the exfoliants. I’ve learned via Twitter that a lot of you are using Differin so I explicitly called out when to use that. There is also retinol this week for the Hyperpigmentation II group. If you’ve never used retinol, START SMALL. It’s common to see retinol included in a lot of serums that are marketed towards clearing hyperpigmentation, so if you were already using a serum with AHAs and retinol, that’s fine. I wouldn’t recommend stronger retinoids like Retin-A, tretinoin, or anything else prescription. That’s all the explaining I have to do, but I will answer questions via Instagram live tomorrow, Sunday, January 19th at 1:00pm PT. See ya then!
